NEW POST! JULY 19 — Community Presentation hosted by the Jefferson County Veterans Service Office located at 860 SW Madison Ave (inside the Senior Center) in Madras. All Veterans, spouses, and community providers are encouraged to attend. Topics include COVO, Housing, Willamette Cemetery info, Assistive Technology, and Suicide prevention. 0845 to 3 pm: Includes breakfast and lunch. NEW POST! AUGUST 11 – PAIN & DYSFUNCTON RELIEF CLINIC from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Riverhouse Convention Center located at 3075 N Hwy 97, Bend. Presented by the Counterstrain Academy, 9555 SW Barnes Road, Portkland, OR 97219. This organization is seeking volunteers that suffer daily pain. Counterstrain instructors use a gentle approach highly effective in the treatment and management of most painful conditions: Headaches – migraines and tension* Breathing Issues* Fibromyalgia* Sports Performance* Lower back pain* Cervical Pain* Chronic Pain* Rotator cuff Syndrome* Sciatica* PTSD* Post-Concussion Syndrome*Athletic Injuries* and more. Last bike out at 10. Free BBQ for Veterans starts at 11, continues thru 2 pm. Last bike in at 1 pm. Cash prizes for poker winners, live music! 50-50, raffle prizes, Patriot Pinups, & Camaraderie…

SEPT 22 – SUICIDE PREVENTION & AWARENESS EVENT at the Madras Fairgrounds from 9:00-3:00. Car Show, Vendors, Kids games, Entertainment, Suicide Prevention Education, and Can Food Drive to support COVO. More info: 541-475-5228.

SAVE THE DATE! SEPT 29 – C.O. VETERAN COUNCIL DINNER: At Wallace Ranch on Hiway 20 west of Bend. The event is the after party for the annual Scotch Golf Tournament and Dinner. This year the Central Oregon Veterans Council is donating two pigs and supporting the event with volunteer labor. Each year the Scotch donates money to Save A Warrior and to other local 501c3 orgs that serve veterans. This year, COVC looks forward to being recognized as one of those deserving agencies. HONOR FLIGHT OF CENTRAL OREGON is in business and taking Korean War veterans from Central Oregon on 4-day trips to Washington, DC. The
first cadre of Korean War Veterans to traveled to D.C. 6-6-18, to see their Korean War memorial, the US Capitol and Arlington Cemetery and other
memorials. WWII veterans can also still apply for these trips. Veteran and Guardian applications are available. For more information, contact

VISIT WELLNESS RANCH — Volunteers are invited to visit the Wellness Ranch. The Wellness Ranch is located on Couch Market Road and will be starting a Equine Assisted program for Veterans soon. The program also includes Yoga and Acupuncture. Come see what the Ranch has to offer plus help spruce up the place and assist in completing both the outdoor and indoor yoga studio. Speaking of HOUSING…Veterans can purchase a home with no down payment and no fees via the VA’s home mortgage program. All veterans with honorable discharge are eligible.
